For Christmas, Ralph recieved lederhosen from my uncle, Steve. I got a pair too but as they say in Bavaria, my thighs go straight to the floor. I am sending them back for a beefier leg version. I'm sure that it's from carrying goats and dogs in my bike trailer... Yeah.
Until then, I will wear Ralph's. They look much better on him.
Lederhosen, a Christmas tradition. I can't wait to wear mine around the yard and to the store.
Thank you, Steve and Irmgard!
As a side note, we discussed personal creeds in church this Sunday and I have identified 3 things that I feel that have become my "creed" over the years:
1) I fly my freak flag high. (Also known as: I can do whatever I want, I'm eccentric.)
2) I am a friend to people who need a friend.
3) I try my hardest not to judge.
You are a good friend to people who need friends. I've been saying this about you a long time. You are the craziest person I know, as well. I love the lederhosen, but I wouldn't wear them out of the house unless there was a celebration of some sort. They're so fun! It can be your Faulkinbury Christmas Eve tradition. Isn't that when Steve wore them? I don't remember.
ReplyDeleteYou truly are a great friend shan!
ReplyDeleteLove the lederhosen! Next you must get Ralph a ultikilt.

Your creed comments are wonderful. So much more rewarding than the usual "resolutions" list I dream up every year (example: lose 5 pounds and stop reading 4 books at one time). No. 3 is especially good...should be the national prayer.
I wore lederhosen (okay, a very green and fake version) one summer when I worked at Six Flags Fiesta Texas in the German section. They were almost as awesome as those rockin' ones. And I'd say you've pegged yourself well with those creeds.
