Some Dam Pictures

The water level is down about 10 feet from the 1980s now that California draws some of its water from the reservoir.  You can see the line in the rocks behind us in the pictures.

This is where water would go if there was enough to overfill the reservoir.
Water that leaks through the dam is pumped back up into the reservoir.
A dam bridge was built so highway traffic to Arizona no longer needs to put stress on the dam.
It's difficult to capture how tall the dam is.
 The Hoover Dam.
A sign which captures the style of the 30s, when the dam was built.
I let both dogs ride in my lap on the way back to Vegas.
Killer got all shivery because I need to keep the AC on so Bella doesn't pant.  I covered him with a welding hat and he fell asleep.

Unfortunately, I didn't get many pictures of us hanging out with Karen and Chuck. We did see the Blue Man Group (courtesy of Uncle Steve).  Pictures of that will be posted later.

  1. That is so funny the dog got cold. That just reminds me of me. Cold when everyone is hot. Except pregnancy makes you hot. So the reverse has happened just as much lately. You've been getting such nice pics of you and Ralph through all these travels.

  2. Oh man, the pic of you from the top of the dam looking down made me queasy... which was a little out of the norm... Okay, just looked again, and it still did.
